Deirdre is a former member of the “Black Army” of dogs left to survive on their own in a remote area of Mexico. Sweet Scruffy was found with another medium size dog (Scruffy is 45lbs) in Thunderbird Farms. No owners came forward to claim despite the finder posting signs in the area & alerting Animal Care & Control about them being found. Scruffy is very sweet and social. She is now spayed, fully vaccinated & microchipped. She is doing well w/ the dogs in her foster home. She is housebroken and quite loving…If she could plop her 45lb body in a lap all day long she would! She was a little bit scared on the car ride to the vets office but back to her playful sweet self right afterward. She is kennel and doggy door trained. Good with children.

Very smart, energetic 5yr old, 37lb, male Tibetan Terrier whose middle name should be fetch. He’ll play ball or fetch ropes for as long as you have the energy. He brings his toy, and understands drop it, off, and sit. He loves to be the center of attention and will lay close by if you are attentive, often chewing on a nylon bone. Other times, he is his own boy, off relaxing somewhere out of sight. He is potty trained. He has learned to go out a doggie door but hasn’t gotten the hang of coming back in. He has a bit of separation anxiety because of being w/ his previous owner 24/7 (she had to move into assisted living) but is not destructive in response. He has acute hearing and is a wonderful watchdog.

He would be well suited to an active household. He is a sturdy strong dog. He’s not shown any aggression but might knock small children or the elderly down easily during play, so care around toddlers is necessary. He’d be fine with older children. He’s fine w/ the other 3 dogs in his foster home but not big on playing w/ them.

He has all his shots and is licensed with Pinal County. He is chipped and registration is complete and current.

Beautiful brindle Bull Terrier needs her loving forever home WITHOUT cats, dogs or kids. I know this is a tall order but someone out there will be the right one for her. Remington was a rescue and she has issues with resource guarding so we DO NOT want her to have to go to the pound. We have worked with her for TEN MONTHS and the habit isn’t being corrected. Remi thinks she is a lap dog and eats treats like veggies and fruit.

There’s a $75 re-homing fee and she comes with her food, bed, toys, etc. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. No medical issues. She loves exercise and her current routine has at least two walks every day. Please share so we can keep her from having to go to the shelter, please.

Maui is almost 1.5 years old. He is absolutely gorgeous and super sweet. He is neutered and microchipped, all claws intact. He will do best in a family where he is the only animal or at least not dogs and older mellow cats. We have 2 dogs and another cat, so he spends most of time hiding away. This big boy is AWESOME! Great with all humans & other dogs. Playful and well behaved. Knows basic commands and will even “shake.” He was found as a stray on Casa Blanca Rd in July and despite many avenues to try to find his owner, the original finder and us were both unsuccessful. He had no collar or tags and was very thin but he has put on a healthy amount of weight, been vet checked and will be getting his vaccines next week. Finn would be a wonderful family pet.

Bear’s owner had to go into the hospital and was unable to keep him despite wanting to very much. Bear is a cuddly little guy who gets along well with other dogs both big & small. Sweet baby Hannah was found in the side of the road where she was laying after being hit by a car. She was taken to a vet where thankfully her wounds were superficial. MUST BE AN ONLY DOG. ELLIE NOT SURRENDER D TO RESCUE. Ellie is an American bulldog/ Dalmation. She is approx 4 in half years old and is such a loving dog. Unfortunately, about 2 years ago she was in a fight with a German Shepherd (both female dogs, so the fight was nothing but territorial) since then, Ellie has had her guard up around other dogs. But once she gets time to sniff them out and interact for a little she will calm down. Ellie loves people and is good around kids. She is definitely a hyper dog and LOVES running and playing fetch.

Abby was taken from my friend who needed to find homes for a litter of puppies
She is now a little over 6 months I’ve been working hard with her she know how to sit lay shake loves to play fetch and loves to play in the water with the kids who are 12, 6 and the baby who is also 6 months she is a very playful girl and does well on a leash. She gets along with other dog holly who is a 10+ year old Pomeranian we also have two cats she wants to play with cats don’t care to much for her that way. Abby is house broken she uses the doggie door loves to go on walks pulls every now and then when she sees other animals she just wants to play. She loves the dog park will come when you call her. Abby needs to be rehomed because owner went back to work & is finding it hard to give her the time she needs. She is spending a lot of time in her crate and she would do best being able to be loved and interact in a family more. She is spayed & up to date on shots.

We think her owners may have fallen on hard times and let her go in a safe neighbourhood where they knew she would be cared for. Max is a sweet, cuddly, and energetic 6 month old puppy, who just loves to run and play! He is a border collie/red bone hound mix, and is black and brown, with salt and pepper markings on his chest and paws. He just loves to eat, so he is definitely motivated by food. He could be an amazing hunting dog with the right training, or simply a lovable companion and friend. He’s great with kids (albeit, a bit of a jumper), and other animals. Originally named “Pack Member” because she was a known member, clearly related, but stayed at a distance from everyone and everything. She was terrified of everything. Apollo & his brother were found as strays in rural Maricopa. They appeared well socialized & well fed. They did have metal collars (no tags or microchips) that had grown too small and requires cutting to remove for both pups. Gus is a very very sweet boy! He is doing wonderfully with kennel & dog door training. He loves his foster brother & sister who are both boxers. He loves toys and playtime. When he’s tired he is happy to snuggle up to you or lay next to your feed on his bed on the floor. Gus was found as an exhausted stray w/ some superficial injuries to his legs. He was dehydrated and could barely walk. A vet in Phx let him stay for a couple of days and started him on antibiotics to keep his wounds from becoming infected. Once he was all healed, they released him to rescue. He is very playful, so care around small children is a must but he would make a good family member for almost any family dynamic. He is easily trained and knows some basic commands already from only being in his foster home for about 5 days. He is now neutered, fully vaccinated & will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Tracy is a gorgeous girl who has been at the county shelter for over 3mos. They originally thought (per the shelter staff) that he would double in size but after a vet check the vet reported he was full grown at 7lbs He does bond quickly with people and does well with older children – not tested around small children but it is not expected that he would do poorly. Willie loves to snuggle and play. He loves to take walks and he is completely housebroken – doggy door and kennel trained. EJ had an incredibly rough start in life. She was found tiny and emaciated. She almost did not make it but thanks to an incredible family who hand fed her, held and loved her back to life as well as a benefactor paying for a repair to her injured hip, EJ is now a normal, playful, very sweet puppy!

Sweet Cinders & her sister were found in an open field next to the Palo Brea subdivision in Maricopa. After attempts to locate an owner for over a week, no one claimed them. Both girls were very scared & thin when found. Cinders is definitely the more social / playful of the two sisters and she is very very smart. Both into foster care where they are learning basic commands, housebreaking (doggy door and kennel.) Leash training is going a little slower but it’s coming along! Cinders does great w/ the 3 dogs in her foster home but she thinks the cat is super fun to chase. She has not shown any aggression but is definitely single minded to chase kitties when she sees them. Cinders is great with the children in her foster home! Cinders will be spayed, fully vaccinated & microchipped prior to adoption.

Woof! I am spayed & vaccinated. I be microchipped on day of adoption if requested. I’m pretty jealous of other female dogs, so the best home for me would be with larger breed male dogs. I get anxious around children, so only older children or no children at all would be best. I am kennel trained & housebroken. Would love a family who can let me settle in slowly.

Myra female 3 yrs old, poodle mix. She is spayed, vaccinated (due for booster in about 2 weeks.) Would be best as the only dog or with submissive male or female, she is submissive herself. She has been beaten by a man in her past so takes a little while to warm up to men and she gets nervous around children, so a home with no young ones is important. She needs a lot of love and attention which she can’t get in her current environment because the dominant dog growls at her.
