This handsome boy is Bowie and he’s looking for his furever home. Bowie just celebrated his 6th birthday on October 10, and his family is sad to have to see him go, but because of changes in his family’s life, Bowie has found himself in apartment living and it’s just not what is best for him. He is a healthy, mixed breed weighing approx. 65 pounds. He does shed a bit but loves to be brushed.

He is very smart and knows how to “sit”, “stay”, “stand up”, “lay down” and “walk with me” to keep him at your side when going for walks. He eats dry food but likes it wet and if you don’t sprinkle some water on it, he will do it himself with his water bowl.. This is very cute but does get a little messy. Bowie is a happy boy, is eager to please and a quick learner. He loves to play fetch with his ball and to go for long walks. However he is not a fan of other dogs and in his current community living situation there are plenty of other dogs to get upset about.

Bowie was rescued off the side of the road in the middle of the desert when he was about 4 months old, emaciated and covered in ticks. He can be a little skittish when meeting new people but warms up quickly to new friends. He doesn’t like plastic bags and can be skittish around strangers, mostly men. These are things he has never grown out of. He also has seasonal allergies but a little benadryl helps with that.

Bowie would do best with a woman or family with older children and no other animals, especially dogs. He needs a home with a yard to run and go potty in so not to be disturbed by other dogs. He is a big love and deserves a lot of love back. He has actually been his mama’s emotional support animal which makes this decision even harder because of the bond we have. He loves to be close and can pick up on changes in your mood and in turn will come to you when you need emotional support.

He is a healthy, very good looking mixed breed and weighs approx. 65 pounds. He has medium hair and is a shedder but does enjoy being brushed with the deshedding brush.
